  Very close to the hospital, which we were visiting. Have never had a hotel try and charge £10 each to 'hire' bathrobes - this was very sub standard and not the usual standard of service we expect from a Mercure as Accor club card holders.
  Breakfast is £14 each but there is a garden centre over the road with a modern, light and airy restaurant where you can get two full english breakfasts for £10.
  Comfy bed, hot room with no aircon, had to leave window wide open all night. Ground floor window did not seem to fully lock closed.
  Weird 'spa' with no hot tub.
  
  Forgot to add: there is a cockerel, and he will wake you up at 5am.

  The hotel staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The bedroom was clean and very comfortable. The hotel really needs a makeover as generally it's very dated (not in a good way). The most disappointing element of our stay was the spa facilities, which definitely do not match the photo and marketing representation at all. There are no loungers, no hot tub or jacuzzi and it's open to the public, including swimming lessons, which makes for a very un-spa like experience! The massage, however was great. Mercure need to really take a good look at the facility they are offering as it's letting them down significantly.

  Friendly helpful staff. Room a little dated. Food was a mixed bag but VERY expensive for what it was.
  Breakfast started early so a good bonus for those that need a early start. Plenty of parking and a relaxing atmosphere about the place.
